Big Bay at a glance
Big Bay is a small suburb (on Big Bay itself) within the greater Bloubergstrand area with iconic views across Table Bay of Table Mountain and the Atlantic Ocean.
This small hub’s property market mainly consists of homes within estates (55,58%) or sectional title property (39,98%) and only 4,43% freehold property. With this area having only recently been developed to the extent it is now, the majority of the homes here are less than ten years old.
Most of the owners of property in this area are in the 36 to 49 year old bracket (46%) with 37% being more mature, in the 50 to 64 year old age bracket.
While Big Bay is the ideal place for those who thrive on sail and surf, it is also suitable for those who work in Cape Town’s CBD, as it is on the MyCiti bus route as well as being within easy driving distance to the northern suburbs.
Big Bay has its own attractions in terms of shopping and entertainment in the immediate vicinity as well as the neighbouring suburbs. It is a 10km drive to world-class Atlantic Beach Golf Club and there are three main beaches within 5km of Big Bay, as well as good private schools.
Big Bay offers residents beachfront access and many restaurants, shopping convenience and generous off-street parking. In addition, however, this is an area that is fast becoming the place to be when it comes to water sports and contemporary apartment living.
